Copenhague

[:es]En Copenhague me recibió Hans, un sociólogo que con mucho entusiasmo me contó acerca de sus pueblos orígenes. Según Hans, los vikingos siempre se distinguieron por ser grandes diplomáticos y no por ser un pueblo guerrero. Desde el siglo IV a.C., negociaban los secretos para construir los más sofisticados barcos. La destreza de los vikingos en esta actividad era basada en una larga y sólida experiencia. Hoy estas tradiciones aún se mantienen activas; los astilleros daneses y sus barcos se cotizan en el mundo entero.[:en]Hans was sociologist and with a lot of enthusiasm he told me about the origins of his people. According to Hans, the Vikings were always distinguished to be big diplomatic and not to be warriors. From the century IV B.C., they negotiated the secrets to build the most sophisticated ships. The dexterity of the Vikings in this activity were based on a long and solid experience. Today these traditions still stay active; the Danish shipyards and their ships are quoted in the whole world.[:]

Suecia

[:es]Mi recorrido en Suecia se vio marcado por las lluvias, desde Estocolmo pedaleé hasta Malmo, y en el camino visité la isla de Gotland. Afortunadamente casi siempre encontré gente que me pueda recibir, locales y extranjeros; y cuando no, armaba la carpa bajo el agua.[:en]Mi trip in Sweden was under the rain, from Stockholm I cycled to Malmo and I visit Gotland Island. I was lucky because most of the time I was hosted by people, if not I camped. [:]

Finlandia, con sabor criollo

[:es]Llegué a Helsinki de barco y enseguida me dirigí a la plaza de Mercado “Kauppatori” donde también llegan los isleños para vender sus productos. Allí yo también realicé mis ventas y fue muy bueno. Luego llamé al Che, un argentino que vive en Finlandia hace más de 15 años y que supo contactarme con otros compatriotas durante mi recorrido en el país.[:en]I arrived in Helsinki by boat and at once I went to the “Kauppatori Market” where the insular farmers arrive in small wooden ships to sell their fresh products. I also sold very well. Then I met Che, an Argentinean who has been living in Finland since 1990. He introduced me with others compatriots along my way through the country.[:]

San Petersburgo

[:es]Corrían los últimos días de verano, aunque no parecía. Ya era época de frío. No tenía tiempo para explorar muchos mas el norte de Europa, por ello antes de regresar hacia el sur, desde los países Bálticos me hice una escapada para conocer aunque sea San Petersburgo.[:en]European summer is very short, but before cycling south from Baltic countries I decided to visit St Petersburg at least for few days.[:]

Tallin

[:es]Tallin quedará por siempre grabado en mi memoria. Y lo que más recordaré es la calidez de la gente rusa, que desde que ingresé en los países Bálticos no dejaron de acogerme. Sin duda de lo mejor que conocí por Europa.[:en]Tallinn will be for always engraving in my memory. And what I will remember forever is the Russian people’s warmth that since I entered in the Baltic countries they didn’t stop to welcome me. Without a doubt one of the nicest people that I met in Europe.[:]

Letonia bajo lluvia

[:es]Mientras dormía en un camping en Riga, una tormenta con truenos y relámpagos se largó, por momentos creí que la carpa iba a salir volando; luego el agua comenzó a entrar por todos los costados. En la mañana me desperté con temperatura y tuve que mudarme a un hotel por una semana, porque la lluvia nunca paró.[:en]When I arrived in Riga I stayed in a camping. That night a storm with thunders and flash of lightings was released, for moments I believed that the tent will come out flying. Then the water began to enter from all the sides. In the morning I woke up with temperature, and I had to move to a hotel per a week, because it was raining all the time. [:]

Lituania

[:es]Mi paso por Lituania fue tan corto, como lo corto que es el país. Pero los días que estuve bastaron para conocer un poco el país y la hospitalidad de su gente.[:en]My way through Lithuania was as short as the distance that the country has. But these days were enough to know the country and the kindness of its people.[:]

Polonia

[:es]Varsovia es una ciudad única entre las capitales europeas. Para finales de la II Guerra Mundial, cerca del 80 % de sus edificios habían sido reducidos a escombros. Pero la ciudad fue reconstruida durante la era comunista, y parecería que durante los últimos años fue invadida nuevamente, aunque ésta vez por el capitalismo.[:en]Warsaw is a unique city among the European capitals. At the end of the Second World War, near 80% of its buildings had been smashed. But the city was reconstructed during the communist age, and it would seem that during the last years it was invaded again, although this time for the capitalism[:]

Praga un lugar para no volver

[:es]Estaba súper enfurecido, con ganas de desquitarme y romper todo. La gente que pasaba por la puerta del local se detenía para ver semejante espectáculo, algunos me aconsejaban ir a la policía y otros me decían: “a mí también me engañaron aquí”.[:en]I was absolutely furious I wanted to break the whole shop. People that went passing the shop stopped to see that free show, some advised me to go to the police, and other ones told me: “I was also deceived here”.[:]

Camino a Munich

[:es]Munich es la ciudad más importante del sur de Alemania, posee majestuosos edificios, además de monumentos históricos y grandes museos. También es conocida por la célebre fiesta de la cerveza: Oktoberfest. Permanecí una semana en la ciudad y recaudé el dinero para avanzar otro trayecto del viaje.[:en]Munich is the most important city in the south of Germany; it has majestic buildings, besides historical monuments, and important museums. It is also well-known by the celebrated party of the beer Oktoberfest. I stayed in the city during a week and I collected the money to cycle another itinerary of the trip.[:]
