El Kurdistán en bicicleta

[:es]Según me explicó Hassan el Kurdistán es la región situada al norte de Medio Oriente, reclamado históricamente por el pueblo kurdo, la etnia que lo habita. “Pero actualmente se encuentra dividido por la soberanía de 4 países”. “La parte turca es una zona totalmente olvidada, me decía[:en]According Hassan explained to me the Kurdistan is the region located to the north of Middle East, claimed historically by the Kurdish people, the ethnic group which inhabits there. But at the present time it is divided by the sovereignty of 4 countries, and the Turkish side is a completely forgotten area, he told me.[:]

Otra vez en Turquía

[:es]Ingresé a Turquía por cuarta vez. Un país hermoso y testigo de los mejores momentos del viaje. Ya llevo más de dos años viajando por los países del mediterráneo y lo que debería ser un recorrido lineal por momentos se me hace circular. Ahora compartiría ruta con un Serbio[:en]I entered to Turkey per fourth time. It is a nice country and witness of the best moments of the trip. I have already travelled for more than two years through the Mediterranean countries and what should be a lineal journey for moments is a circular route. Tel Aviv

[:es]Según nos explicaba Roni, el kibutz de Ma’agan Michael, es uno de los más desarrollados de Israel, que no solo trabaja con la agricultura, sino que también tiene la mayor industria de plástico del país, así como un criadero de peces con fines comerciales y una política muy particular. Jerusalén

El sur de la Jordania

[:es]Tras varios días en ruta llegamos al desierto de Wadi Rum, un sitio divino donde la naturaleza se manifiesta en todo su esplendor. Tierra de grandes montañas, impresionantes dunas y beduinos que siguen la vía de sus antepasados. Un lugar detenido en el tiempo, casi perfecto para perderse completamente en él.[:en]After some days on the road we arrived to the Wadi Rum desert, a magnificent site where the nature shows all its splendour. A land of big mountains, impressive dunes and Bedouins who follow the way of life of their ancestors. An almost perfect place to get lost in it. [:]

Jordania

[:es]El viaje continuó hacia Aman, la capital, y llegar allí ha sido una sorpresa. Me gustó su combinación de una parte tradicional y más vieja con una moderna, construida según los criterios estilísticos occidentales, allí también las mujeres parecen más libres, emancipadas.[:en]The trip continued to Amman, the capital city, and it has been a surprise. I liked its combination of a traditional and older part with one modern, built according to western stylistic criterions, where also the women seem freer, emancipated.[:]

Líbano

[:es]Llegamos a Beirut a mediados de diciembre de 2006, y pese ha que ya habían pasado cuatro meses de la guerra con Israel, la capital libanesa todavía no estaba en paz porque ahora la amenaza era el inicio de una nueva guerra civil. [:en]We arrived in Beirut on the middle of December of 2006, and in spite of there were more than four months since the war with Israel had already ended, the Lebanese capital was not still in peace because now the threat was the beginning of a new civil war. [:]

Siria

[:es]El viaje por Siria duró casi dos meses, con mucho frío y a veces bajo lluvia visitamos sitios arqueológicos como Ebla, Afamia y Palmyra. Y así, despacio y curiosos nos fuimos mezclando con la gente del interior, con su forma de ser y con sus tradiciones. Y que difícil resultó a veces.[:en]The trip through Syria lasted two months, it was too much cold and sometimes with some rains; we visited archaeological places like Ebla, Afamia and Palmyra. By this way, slowly and curious we were living together with some families, with their way of life and traditions, but how difficult it was sometimes. [:]

Pedaleando Turquía con novia

[:es]Recorrer la Turquía con Clara no fue tan sencillo como cuando la recorrí solo; a los hombres ya no les caigo tan simpático y las miradas ya no se dirigían a mí, sino a ella, como si yo no existiese. Pero el problema surgía cuando se pasaban de la raya. [:en]The travel in Turkey with Clara was not as simple as when I travelled alone; Now I am not so nice for men and their looks are not more to me. The Turks are good people, but many times I had to impose to them.[:]

[:es]Conocí a Pablo en noviembre de 2005, en Palermo, Sicilia; pero a fines de abril me faltó el coraje y no conseguí partir como nosotros lo creíamos posible. Yo no fui capaz de abandonar aquella que era hasta el 19 de agosto cuando finalmente llegué al puerto de Brindisi y entendí lo que debía pensar: “aquel barco con destino a Turquía no lo podía perder.”[:en]I met Pablo in November of 2005, in Palermo, Sicily, but at the end of April I didn’t have the courage and I couldn’t leave as we believed it possible. I was not able to abandon that who I was up to August 19 when finally I arrived to the port of Brindisi and I understood what I should think: “I can not lose that ship to Turkey.”[:]
