[:es]Una vez pasado el invierno europeo, en el que trabajé mucho para la web, tracé la ruta a seguir, y tras despedirme de mi familia en Madrid encaré la ruta en dirección Andalucía donde anduve por casi tres meses.[:en]After the European winter, where I worked a lot for the website, I traced the route to continue my trip and after saying goodbye to my family in Madrid I started my cycle to Andalusia where I stayed 3 months[:]
[:es]Cuando llegué al puerto era final de la tarde y tenía mis manos y pies congelados. Tal era el frío que cuando abrí mi botella térmica noté una capa de hielo en el agua. La bajada fue peligrosa, pensaba que podía perder el control de mi bicicleta, por ello no paré de rezar.[:en]When I arrived to the pass it was the end of the afternoon and I had my frozen hands. And my foot were worse than my hands. It was dangerous. Going down I thought that I could lose the control of my bicycle, and I didn’t stop of praying. [:]
[:es]En Santiuste, Segovia quedaron los sobrinos de mi abuelo Víctor y fui a conocerlos. El día que llegué en una de las esquinas de la entrada del pueblo había un señor mayor con boina y envuelto en un abrigo largo. Hacía mucho frío, pero no le importó, él esperaba por mi.[:en]In Santiuste, Segovia there are the grandfather’s nephews Víctor and I cycled to there. At one of the corners of the entrance of the town there was an older man wearing beret and long shelter. I was too cold, but he was waiting for me[:]
[:es]Conversando con la gente sentí como los vascos son nacionalistas, y no se sienten españoles. “Somos vascos”, me decían, “fuimos gobernados por una monarquía durante 40 años en la que no podíamos hablar nuestra lengua, o éramos reprimidos. Es ahora que nuevamente está floreciendo nuestra cultura y lengua; y no van a conseguir aniquilarla.”[:en]Talking with people I felt as the Basques are nationalist, and they don’t feel themselves Spanish. “We are Basque”, they told me: “We were ruled by a monarchy during 40 years which we could not speak our language or we were repressed”. “Now we are flourishing our culture and language; and they won’t be able to annihilate it.”[:]
[:es]La rambla es la avenida más famosa de Barcelona y da gusto caminarla. Animada de día y de noche, es como un museo de personajes que con su originalidad cobran tributo a los turistas o simplemente a los curiosos. Y yo también me detuve allí a exponer mi viaje.[:en]It was very beautiful to walk along the rambla, the most famous avenue of Barcelona. And for me it was like a museum of characters that, with their originality, amuse tourists and curious people.[:]
[:es]La idea de viajar por todo el continente con dos o tres sponsors europeos no tuvo éxito. Parecería que no existieran empresas a las que se les pueda presentar un proyecto distinto. La política de marketing tiene otra estrategia, me decían. Por ello tuve que recurrir al plan B.[:en]The idea of travelling round the continent with two or three European sponsors didn’t succeed. It seemed that there weren’t firms whom I could introduce this kind of project. Our marketing policy goes another strategy, they used to said to me. So I had to think on plan B.[:]
