Atravesando las Rocallosas

[:es]En mi travesía por el oeste de EE.UU. el viaje se torno majestuoso. Los parques nacionales que se extienden en las rocallosas son de una belleza única, solemnes. Todo el esfuerzo físico y sufrimiento para haber llegado allí, de repente se transforman en satisfacción y en una carga de energía que hasta el alma te agradece.[:en]On my way through the western U.S. the journey became majestic. The national parks that spread throughout the Rockies are uniquely beautiful, solemn. All physical exertion and suffering to have arrived there suddenly turn into satisfaction and an energy reload that even your soul appreciates.[:]

Canadá

[:es]En mi recorrido por Canadá he compartido la ruta durante un mes y medio con Álvaro, el Biciclown. Al saber que desde el inicio de mi viaje vengo grabando, Álvaro se ofreció a realizar el guión para mi documental. Tú tienes una historia muy bonita, me dijo y hay que contarla..[:en]During my tour in Canada I have shared the road for a month and a half with Alvaro, the Biciclown. By knowing about the videos that I have been producing since the beginning of my trip, Alvaro offered me to make the script for my documentary. Alaska

[:es]Alaska fue uno de los trayectos más duros que he tenido que atravesar. Estar en soledad en situaciones tan extremas me hace fuerte. Etapas como estas son más que un reto y superarlas me motiva a seguir adelante…[:en]Alaska was one of the hardest routes I’ve been through. Being alone in such extreme situations makes me stronger. These stages are more than a challenge and overcoming them motivates me to keep going …[:]

Estados Unidos

[:es]Si bien la idea inicial era comenzar a pedalear el continente desde Alaska, el clima no me lo permitió; corría el inicio de la primavera, por ello desde Samoa volé a Hawai y luego a San Francisco para pedalear la costa del estado de California. Y estuvo muy bien.[:en]While the initial idea was to start cycling the continent from Alaska, the weather did not let me do so. It was the beginning of spring, thereby from Samoa I flew to Hawaii and then to San Francisco to ride the coast of California, and it was so good… [:]

Samoa

[:es]La Polinesia es una de las divisiones tradicionales de Oceanía, formada por casi mil islas situadas en el centro y en el sur del océano Pacífico. Un triángulo imaginario que tiene como esquinas la Isla de Pascua, Nueva Zelanda y Hawai. Camino a Norteamérica elegí detenerme en Samoa, y así conocer uno de los lugares más vírgenes y auténticos de la cultura polinesia.[:en]Polynesia is one of the traditional divisions of Oceania, formed by nearly one thousand islands, located in the Centre and South of the Pacific Ocean. An imaginary triangle whose corners are Easter Island, New Zealand and Hawaii. On my way to North America, I chose to stop in Samoa and get to know one of the most pristine and authentic Polynesian culture.[:]

Nueva Zelanda

[:es]Llegué a la isla sur con mucha expectativa. Durante los últimos meses me había cansado de oír lo grandioso que sería pedalear por su “West Coast”. Pero debido al clima, las malditas sand flies y la poca onda de la gente, ésta etapa ha sido una de mis mayores decepciones.[:en]I came to the South Island with high expectations. During the last months I had got tired of hearing how great it would be riding its West Coast. But due to the weather, the damn sand flies and its unfriendly people it has been one of my biggest disappointments.[:]

Camino a Sidney

[:es]Canguros, víboras y cocodrilos, son algunos de los animales más comunes en Australia. Lo que nunca imaginé era tener que enfrentarme a un puñado de rattus villosissimus que rodearon primero mi bicicleta y luego mi carpa con el fin de comerse lo mejor de mi comida.[:en]Kangaroos, snakes and crocodiles are some of the animals more common in Australia. What I never thought was that I have to face up to a handful of rattus villosissimus which surrounding first my bicycle and then my tent with the intention of eating the best of my food[:]

Australia

[:es]Pedalear por Australia se transformó en uno de los mayores desafíos de todo el viaje. Inicié la pedaleada más cargado que nunca; Northern Territory es la pcia más inhóspita del país, las distancias entre paradores llegan a casi 300 km, y entre supermercados 700 km.[:en]Pedaling through Australia became one of the biggest challenges of the trip. I started my ride more loaded than ever before; the Northern Territory is the most inhospitable state of the country, the distances between populations reach nearly 300 km and between supermarkets 700 km.[:]

Timor del Este

[:es]Cuando llegué a Timor del Este, entendí que me encontraba en uno de los países más jóvenes el mundo. La mayoría de los timorenses vive de lo que cultiva o pesca, las infraestructuras son escasas, y mucha gente no tiene electricidad, ni acceso al agua potable ni al dinero. Por ello con la independencia del país, los valores humanos defendidos como universales dieron paso a los intereses mercantiles de las grandes potencias, me explicaba Renato. [:en]When I arrived to East Timor, I realized that I was in one of the youngest countries in the world. Most Timorese live by growing or fishing; the infrastructure is scarce and many people still lack access to drinking water, electricity or access to money. Conocí a Pablo hace ya tiempo, en España. En los días que convivimos “bajo mi mismo techo” forjamos una linda amistad, la misma que ha hecho que 6 años más tarde me ofreciera acompañarle en su recorrido. Así que no me lo pensé ni un momento y 15 días más tarde estaba subido en un avión camino a Bali, patrocinado por uno de sus sponsors.
