El fin de la Vuelta al Mundo en Bicicleta

[:es]Finalmente tras 167.510 km completé la vuelta al mundo en bicicleta. Aquí te cuento uno de los episodios más tristes que viví en el último trecho del recorrido por mi país, y lo EMOCIONANTE que fue el día de mi llegada. Y claro que también mis nuevos proyectos luego de 16 años de viaje.
[:en]Finally after 167.510 km I completed the round the world by bike journey. Here I tell you one of the saddest episodes I lived in the last stretch of the tour of my country, and how EXCITING was the day of my arrival. And of course, I also tell you about my new projects after 16 years of travel.[:]

Chile, por la carretera Austral

[:es]Poco conocía de Chile, ya que nunca había estado en este país. La imagen que el argentino tiene de los chilenos no siempre es indiferente, y viceversa. Históricamente Argentina y Chile han tenido conflictos territoriales y debido a la pasión por el fútbol siempre nos hemos enfrentado deportivamente. Pero más allá de ir a conocer a los chilenos, lo que me llevó a Chile fue pedalear la mítica Carretera Austral, un desafío en el rubro del ciclo-turismo.[:en]I knew a little bit from Chile, since I had never been in this country. The image that the Argentine has of the Chileans is not always disinterested, and vice versa. Historically, Argentina and Chile have had territorial conflicts and due to the passion for football we have always faced each other. But beyond going to meet the Chileans, what really took me there was pedaling the mythical Austral Road a big challenge in the cycle tourism world[:]

De regreso en Argentina

[:es]Tras más de 15 años pedaleando por todos los continentes, ingresé a Argentina totalmente emocionado. Por fin la vuelta al mundo en bicicleta me regresaba a mi país, aunque en muy mal estado de salud debido al último trecho que había atravesado en Bolivia. Durante mi recorrido por el noroeste argentino experimenté la atención pública en los hospitales, conocí la realidad de los pueblos más olvidados y comencé a golpear puertas buscando un sponsor. [:en]After more than 15 years pedaling throughout all the continents, I arrived in Argentina totally excited, Finally my bicycle tour around the world was taking me back to my country, despite my very bad health condition due to The last trail pedaled through Bolivia. During my travel by the Argentinean northwest, I experienced the public health services at Hospitals, and faced the reality of the most forgotten places and started knocking on doors looking for sponsors. Bolivia, uno de los más grandes desafíos

[:es]Desde Uyuni mi camino siguió a través de uno de los paisajes más impresionantes del planeta, el Salar de Uyuni y la reserva de fauna andina Eduardo Avaroa. Adentrarme en estos 500 km que se extienden entre los 3600 y 5000 mt sobre el nivel del mar, con temperaturas de hasta 15º bajo cero, ha sido uno de mis mayores desafíos. Y por más duro que sea el camino, en el que uno se arrepiente, patalea, grita o llora, el esfuerzo vale la pena, porque en una travesía como tal se despiertan sensaciones tan intensas que llegan hasta el alma.[:en]From “Uyuni” my path continued throughout one of the most breathtaking views on the planet, “El Salar de Uyuni” and “Reserva de fauna andina Eduardo Avaroa”. To get into this 500km that extends between 3600-5000m above sea level, with temperatures as low as -15°C, has been one of my major challenges. Despite the roads have been insanely rough, where you regret, fuss, yell and cry, undoubtedly the effort was worthy due in such trip, intense sensations come alive and reaches your soul.[:]

Brasil

[:es]Sueño cumplido carajo!! La vuelta al mundo en bicicleta realizada!! Finalmente llegué a Brasil y tras recorrer el nordeste brasilero regresé a Maceió!!!!! Aquí con mis amigos, los que en Junio del 99 me vieron partir con el sueño de dar la vuelta al mundo en bicicleta. Pasaron más de 14 años en carretera en los que hice 146.000 km para reencontrarme con ellos. Un proyecto maratónico que pensaba hacer, ingenuamente, en 2 años y medio. Pero el viaje aún no termina, aun queda regresar a casa, Buenos Aires. [:en]My dream came true!!! The Project “Cycling Around the World” is done!!! Finally I arrived in Brazil and after cycling through northeast I came back to Maceio! Here with my friends, who saw me leaving in June 1999 with the goal of cycling around the world. After 14 years on the road and 146,000 km covered I am back. I was very naive, because I planned to do it in 2½ years. But the journey is not over yet, I will cycle home, Buenos Aires.[:]

Perú

[:es]Mi corto recorrido en este país fue para adentrarme en la zona oriente, en la selva Peruana. Atravesando parte de la cordillera visité pueblos remotos, pero la gran sorpresa fue llegar al rio Huallaga, de la cuenca superior del río Amazonas, donde me embarcaría hasta el Atlántico.[:en]My short tour in this country was to go into the eastern area in the Peruvian jungle. crossing part of the mountain range I visited remote villages, but the big surprise was reaching the Huallaga River, in the upper Amazon basin, where I will embark to the Atlantic.[:]
